Ingredients
  1. SLIDERS
  2. 1 ¼ lbs. ground sirloin or chuck
  3. 1 tsp. Worchester sauce
  4. 2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
  5. Salt and pepper to taste
  6. 6 slices Swiss cheese
  7. 12 slider buns, toasted, for serving
  8. Thinly sliced ripe tomato
  9. Sliced ripe avocado
  10. Pickled jalapeño, sliced in rings
  11. Boston lettuce leaves for garnish
  12. CARAMELIZED ONIONS
  13. 1 Tbsp. butter
  14. 1 large red onion, cut into ¼" rings
  15. 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  16. ¹⁄³ cup Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon
  17. Salt and pepper
Instructions
  1. Prepare the onion rings: melt butter in a skillet, add onion rings and sugar; sauté over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring, until slightly browned. Add the Diablo wine, season with salt and a generous portion of black pepper; cook over medium heat, until all the wine has evaporated, about 15 minutes. Reserve. Place beef, Worcestershire, Tabasco, salt, and pepper in a bowl; toss to combine. Form the mixture into 12 patties. Before serving: Grill the sliders to desired doneness. Turn them over and top each with a half slice of cheese in the last minute of cooking. Place sliders on the toasted buns; top with caramelized onion rings, tomato, avocado, pickled jalapeño rings, and lettuce. Cover with the bun tops; serve at once.
